Cost to produce tomatoes exceeds R$ 100,000

The Hortifruti Brasil Special Tomato issue (June, 157th edition) shows that production costs have been rising year by year. In 2016, higher costs of tomato production are mainly due to high dollar, energy, credit rates, as well as unfavorable weather.

The June issue shows the evolution of production costs in major tomatoes producing regions: Mogi Guaçu (SP) and Caçador (SC). Hortifruti/Cepea calculates that to produce one hectare of tomatoes, expenses now exceed 100,000 Reals. The alert of Hortifruti Brasil is: it’s necessary a very careful management of tomato production!
