Piracicaba, 30 - Brazilian apple harvest ends in May in south of the country. Volume is bigger than the previous season due to better climate and quality is good, but prices are smaller than last year because of major supply. However, with the end of harvest, supply tends to be controlled by larger producers and classifiers, what may favor a rise in prices, mainly for gala variety.
A part of fuji variety production has been facing less pressure on pulp, a problem to support long storaging. Therefore, this apple has urgency on sales. In this scenario, fuji Category 1 (110 size) was sold, in average, by R$ 48.13/box of 18 kg in May in producer regions, value 7% smaller than a month before.
