HF BRASIL, INFORMATION WITHIN THE REACH OF EVERYONE

WHO WE ARE

The Hortifruti Brasil team is part of Cepea, Esalq, University of São Paulo (USP) in Piracicaba, São Paulo State. Hortifruti Brasil brings together researchers and market analysts with complementary backgrounds, dedicated to the economic aspects of the fruit and vegetable sectors. Hortifruti Brasil is under the direct coordination of Dr. Margarete Boteon, professor of Esalq/USP.
In line with Cepea, the mission of Hortifruti Brasil team is to produce quality information based on values such as impartiality and ethics that, as a whole, contribute to the sustainable development of the sectors studied. Hortifruti Brasil vision is to be recognized as a generator of information that effectively integrates the knowledge of the academic sector with the actual challenges of the different links in horticultural production.

DIFFERENTIATED CONTENT

The Hortifruti Brasil team conducts market studies that identify problems and opportunities, propose solutions that benefit not only the production of fruits and vegetables, but also the production chains as a whole, including the consumer.
Their difference lies in daily contact between Hortifruti Brasil researchers with growers, intermediaries, wholesalers, specialized technicians in the production of fruits and vegetables and with professionals of the industry and processors, as well as representatives of professional associations and the government. This network of collaborators is the basis for the preparation of the contents presented by Hortifruti Brasil.
Marketing prices and production costs are continuously collected through this network, which also participates in discussions about trends and structural aspects of the Brazilian horticulture. Periodic contact with these agents allows our researchers to guide their research within the university, based on the actual needs of the sector.
