Piracicaba, 25 – Papaya prices fell again last week (April 15th to 18th). According to Hortifruti/Cepea collaborators, consumers are not willing to pay high prices for papaya, such as those observed in February and March. In addition, there are reports of green and small fruit, which also displease buyers.

There was, also, a slight increase in formosa supply in Norte de Minas Gerais (Minas Gerais state) and Oeste da Bahia (Bahia state), which contributed for the scenario of lower prices. Thus, between April 15th and 18th, formosa recorded an average of BRL 1,17 per kg in Oeste da Bahia, down 27% from last week.
