Piracicaba, 9th - Brazilian melon exports from the 2023/24 crop increased in August when compared to the same month last year. According to data released by the Secretariat of Foreign Trade (Secex), the volume exported was about 5.91 thousand tons in August, 454% higher than in the same month last year.

Agents consulted by Hortifruti/Cepea reported that this increase is mainly justified by the low supply of the European continent, due to the impact of climate on producers such as Spain. Consequently, the demand for foreign melon grew, favoring Brazilian exporters.
