Piracicaba, 10th - In Mogi das Cruzes and Ibiúna (São Paulo states), lettuce prices went up last week (August 31st to September 4th). Even with the high temperatures stimulating demand, the main reason is the reduction in volume – due to a cold front in the second half of August, there was a delay in the lettuce production cycle and quality was affected by diseases. Iceberg lettuce quotes rose 12%, closing at BRL 13.33 per box of 20 units. In the coming weeks, if the weather remains favorable to consumption, quotes tend to be sustained.
