Watermelon harvest in Oscar Bressane (SP) started in the week of September 12th. The first fruits from this region have quality below potential, according to producers. The reason is low temperatures, which retarded fruit growth. Thus, buyers are still waiting to buy watermelon from São Paulo, prioritizing fruits from Goiás. The expectation for next weeks is better quality for fruits from Oscar Bressane. Other production regions from SP (Itápolis and Presidente Prudente) shall harvest only in October.
