TOMATO/CEPEA: Low offer boost prices See photos

Piracicaba, 15th – At the beginning of September, mean values of salad tomato long life 3A rose in the wholesales due to a decrease in volume, which was a result of the proximity of the end of the first part of the winter harvest. Despite the high prices, wholesalers commented that there is a lack of good quality fruit.

Last week, low offer still boosted prices, even though demand was affected by the holiday on Tuesday (7th). Between September 6th and 10th, the mean values of tomato long life 3A were BRL 89,47 (+24,85%) at Ceagesp (São Paulo state), BRL 113,82 (+52,44%) in Campinas (São Paulo state), BRL 88,0 (+35,83) in Rio de Janeiro (Rio de Janeiro state) and BRL 79,54 (+55,21%) in Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais state).
