TOMATO/CEPEA: Cold front pushes prices up	See photos

Piracicaba, 20th - After weeks of quotes devaluation, a cold front in South and Southeast contributed to increase in prices last week (July 9th to 13th). Slow maturation of tomatoes at low temperatures, reduced volume in the market.

In Venda Nova do Imigrante (Espírito Santo state) tomato size “2A” was sold by BRL 25.40 per box of 20 kilograms, an increase of 9.7% in relation to the previous week. Tomato supply will depend on weather conditions. Higher temperatures this week, may accelerate maturation, so, the volume can rise, pressing quotes down.
