Piracicaba, 15 - In September, potato volume will rise due to a production increase in supplying regions. Vargem Grande do Sul (São Paulo state) is the main producer in winter season and 35% of its production will be harvested this month. Cristalina (Goiás state) is also an important producer region and harvest continues apace in September, with 20% of total area harvested. Besides that, productivity tends to rise due to good weather conditions. With this high supply scenario, it is expected that prices only improve in October, when winter season slows down.
