POTATO/CEPEA: Prices remain low in March See photos

Piracicaba, 23 - High supply pushed potato prices down since the beginning of the year. In March, when South of Minas Gerais and Água Doce (SC) are the main supply regions, the volume is still high. Even the fall in productivity, motivated by heavy rain and heat in Santa Catarina, is decreasing prices. In Cerrado Mineiro production tends to be good, although part of it is considered low quality. Besides that, in April, summer season in Minas Gerais will be ending, and only 5% of the production will be harvested in that month.
