Piracicaba, 14th – Papaya growers have been facing phytosanitary challenges in all producing regions monitored by Hortifruti/Cepea this year. There has been an increase the incidence of viruses, which is shortening crop life and pressuring productivity. It is important to emphasize that, as viruses are untreated, growers must eradicate infected plants (roguing) so that the problem does not spread and, consequently, worsens.
