Piracicaba,09 - Onion harvest in Minas Gerais and Goiás states starts in June and shall contribute to an increase in national supply. Up to now, plant development is good and producers are expecting high productivity. Besides that, volume is higher in Northeast regions, with intensification of harvest in Irecê (Bahia state) and São Francisco Valley (Bahia/Pernambuco states). Even with the end of commercialization in South of Brazil last week, the amount of imported onions from Argentina and Europe avoided price increase.
