The season 2016/17 in the South of the country started with high onion volume. High supply is a consequence of proper climate and, thus, prices fell sharply this season. Average prices in January were 75% smaller than the previous year. Harvest is near to end - all areas will finish until February. However, storage process in South states allows commercialization for the coming 3 or 4 months.
