GRAPE/CEPEA: Supply may be smaller than usual in late 2021 See photos

Piracicaba, 8th - The season 2021/22 grape pruning has already started in the producer regions of Brazil. The end-of-the-year season is considered very positive for sales, since harvest occurs near Christmas and New Year’s celebrations - periods with good demand and, sometimes, better prices. In 2021, however, frosts may impact harvest schedules in some regions.

In Marialva (Paraná state), São Miguel Arcanjo and Pilar do Sul (São Paulo state), pruning started in July, but frosts reached some vines and it had to be redone. So, harvest in these areas will be late - after January -, which may reduce supply in November and December, and increase volume in January and February.
