Piracicaba, 03rd - Table grape sales in São Francisco Valley (Pernambuco and Bahia states) were slower in the week of May 24 to 28th. Prices were negatively impacted by high supply and low demand in the domestic market. Difficult sales concern growers, since quotes are below the usual for this period, and in some cases, they are not enough to cover production costs.

Last week, Italia variety was sold by BRL 2.63/kg on average, a devaluation of 17% in comparison to the same week of 2020 - in that period, besides the pandemic, controlled supply was sustaining quotes.
