Piracicaba, 10th - Brazilian watermelon producers expect good profitability in 2020. Investments are likely to occur specially in regions where planted area recently decreased, as in Tocantins state.
In São Paulo state, on the other hand, limited profitability registered in 2019 worries producers, and could restrict new crop investments in 2020. In addition, high leasing prices and climatic problems in recent years may also affect 2020 crop.
As for watermelon exports in Rio Grande do Norte and Ceará states, prospects are good, since in recent years volume is reaching a record high every season
