Piracicaba, 21th - Carrots supply reduced even more last week (February 11th a 15th) in São Gotardo (Minas Gerais state) and the prices rose 14.3% in relation to previous one, closing at BRL 40.00 per box of 29 kg.

The reason are the high humidity and temperature, that causes higher incidence of diseases in production. Because of that, a part of carrots was discarded and the volume reduced significantly.

Besides that, plantation in November was affected by rain, which contributed to low volume now. Better weather conditions are forecasted from now on and supply tends to increase.
