CARROTS/CEPEA: Climate damaged production See photos

Piracicaba, 30th – Carrot production in São Gotardo (Minas Gerais state) was affected by unfavorable climate conditions and productivity is low this summer season. During planting and development, rain and high temperatures in producing regions complicated plant growth. Besides that, the typical summer season weather is unfavorable for harvesting.

With affected production, supply is low and prices have been high since the beginning of February. Last week (April 12th to 18th), quotes went up XX%, closing at BRL XX.XX per box of 29 kg.

For next week, the forecast is better climate conditions in São Gotardo, which may contribute to an increase in supply and prices tend to fall.
