Piracicaba, 12 – Prices did not change in São Gotardo (Minas Gerais state) last week (November 3th to 7th), and carrots were was sold by BRL 18.00 per box of 29 kilos. Supply is still limited, because of excessive rain in the region in early December.

According to Hortifruti/Cepea collaborators, there were some difficulties to removing carrots, since machinery access is limited by wet soil. On the other hand, a reduction of rain on the last days contributed to a return of field activities. Even with this scenario, 2018/19 carrot summer season planting is occurring satisfactorily, and harvest shall intensify this year.
