Piracicaba, 17 - Carrot productivity improved in the region of São Gotardo (MG) this week (November 06th to 10th/11). The yield averaged 102 tons per hectare, 12% higher than last week. The increase of supply pressured prices, causing a fall of 9.6%, with an average of BRL 22.00 per box of 29 kilograms. Even with this reduction, carrot prices remain above cost production, which was estimated at BRL 8.00 per box. Positive profitability was reflected by a reduction of area this winter harvest.
