BANANA/CEPEA: After frosts, Prata went up in value See photos

Piracicaba, 13th - The prices of Prata bananas are rising in the Brazilian producing regions. This is because of fross impact in Delfinópolis (in Minas Gerais state), Vale do Ribeira (in São Paulo state) and Norte de Santa Catarina (in Santa Catarina state), which affected the production and the fruit quality in these places.

Therefore, those regions with higher standards of Prata are getting good prices. For example, Linhares (ES) had a good demand last week (August 2nd to 6th), and the first quality of Prata was sold by BRL 1.58 per kilo on average in the region, 8% higher than the previous week.

For the next few weeks, producers still expect the supply of Prata first quality to remain limited, which should continue to favor adjustments in prices.
