Curitiba and Ponta Grossa, regions in Paraná state, started the planting of potato after July 20th. In August, the activities will be intensified, as usual. This year, with the fear of frost, planting is slower than other years, and a larger area can be planted until September.
In South of Minas Gerais, planting is still slow. There are producers that decided to plant and prepared the soil, and others who are having difficulties in buy seeds. Another challenge is the drought in the region, that can damage soil preparation and delay planting.
